Stretch and Compress

Our upper teeth don’t change position as they’re locked onto our skull. The hinged lower jaw action is primarily up and down with a slight lateral motion.

Again, with squash and stretch, we try to keep the same amount of meat. If you took it out and weighed it — it would weigh the same.

With the ear as the dividing line, the top half of the head remains the same proportion. Be careful with the eyes and nose position.

Overlapping Action in the Face

The overlapping action works. It’s way down the face. (Can be very fast)

Basically, this technique relates to the rhythm of the whole animation acting. Different sequence can show different acting effect and express different emotional changing and reacting.
